Wallet Setup
If you want to use the Bug Finance protocol, you need to have a compatible external wallet connected to Polygon. On this page we'll give a tutorial on how to get one if you don't have one yet.
To interact with the Bug Finance protocol, you'll need a compatible external wallet like MetaMask that supports the Polygon network. While setting up your wallet, ensure you download the latest version from an official source and follow the instructions attentively. Safely back up your recovery phrases and never share them with anyone. Also, only input your recovery phrases in your wallet and never on any website or app.
The following steps will guide you through configuring a MetaMask wallet in your web browser for Bug Finance:
Visit the MetaMask website and click "Install MetaMask" to begin the installation process. MetaMask is available for various browsers and devices that support iOS or Android.
Click "Add to browser" in the top right corner and then "Add Extension" to complete the installation. You'll know MetaMask is installed when you see the fox logo in the top right corner of your browser.
Click on the MetaMask logo in the top right corner and agree to the terms and conditions. Set a password and click "Create" to set up your wallet. You'll be given a list of 12 "seed words"; save them as a file and store it securely. Remember not to share your private key or seed phrase with anyone, as this grants them access to your crypto assets.
Store your seed words safely, as they are your only option for recovery in case you forget your password or lose your device. Write the seed phrase on a piece of paper and create multiple copies for safekeeping.
After storing your seed words, click "I've Copied It Somewhere Safe". By default, your MetaMask wallet is set to the Ethereum mainnet network.
To use Bug Finance, you need to switch to the Polygon network. Click on your current chain at the top of your wallet and select "Add Network" at the bottom of the list. Then, input the required information for the Polygon network:
Network Name: Polygon
RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com/
Chain ID: 137
Currency Symbol (optional): MATIC
Block Explorer URL (optional): https://polygonscan.com/
Once you've entered the details, click "Save" to add the Polygon network to your MetaMask wallet.
Now your MetaMask wallet is configured for the Polygon network, and you're ready to interact with the Bug Finance protocol. Remember to practice safe wallet management and never share your recovery phrases or private keys with anyone.
