# Introduction from the Team

The Bug Finance team has been in the crypto space since 2018 and saw the DeFi craze happening in 2021 and participated in full as holders and yield farmers. We’ve seen everything happen, and know what works and what doesn’t. When Solidly launched, we were able to observe this new and interesting structure in the AMM world. Like many others, we saw its promise but also its flaws. We’ve been watching other Solidly forks launch their improved version, yet we still saw room for improvement. We’ve been avid supporters of Polygon since early 2021, and feel like this is the perfect time to start building something new to add to the immense value this chain and community brings.

We envision Bug Finance becoming a new native liquidity layer, creating value by opening the gates to new and established protocols that wish to start & solve their liquidity provision. Incentivizing liquidity can be a costly thing for protocols, and the ve(3,3) model brings a long-term solution to reduce these costs. However, we think it can be done better. Hence why we reimagined ve(3,3) with our innovative lock mechanism.
